Just wondering to buy CB radio, e.g. for a case we're fucked and they will be visiting citizens one by one and forcing vaccines so we and the neighbors can earn each other that they're coming.
Thoughts?
Any q-related channels you know about?

I have a couple already for farm use.
I hope they bring their own body bags so I can just toss them out by the dumpster..
I bought a CB radio just before christmas. The store was selling the thing off for $20 new. I bought one for lutz. Have not used it yet.
I recently grabbed a portable one and got the external antenna for truck use. Haven't had or used on in decades but figured if something does go terribly south, someone else will have them too. Mine also has that weather radio alert on it so I'll be able to use this when camping if nothing else.
I have a base station CB with an antenna up at 40 feet. I can transmit and receive 100 miles. I have some extra power I can hook.up to extend transmit. Ready for alternate comms.
Everyone with a little time on their hands should get a ham radio license (can take the courses free online, self-study.) It's not that hard, and you'll learn a lot. It's basic Boy Scout stuff you should know anyway in case you ever need it. You'll learn a lot about the world around you.

Maybe Baofeng?
Would you recommend?
went with GMRS radio because can connect to a repeater and talk with people that are within about a 40 mile radius of the repeater - and there are a number of repeaters around my state (and the 48 states)
Here's some info I posted:
GMRS Radio (SHTF text messaging?) and Faraday Cages (EMP protection?) - Diversifying, Reinforcing, and Protecting Your Comms

get GMRS radio gear as some alternative comms for any coming comm blackouts
