IMO, Trump had a piece of the puzzle from his decades long experience as a builder in NYC, NJ, & elsewhere. He may has suspected or even seen personally the international levels of corruption but would never had the scope of mil intel in that regard. It's why he was the perfect fit if...all the preceding assumptions about the military planning to step in are true.
