268 Here’s an idea. Let’s move America’s capitol out west, closer to the geographical center of the country. Set up a tiny, nationalized enclave in the mountains, surrounded by national parks on all sides. Tiny population. Planned, beautiful, walkable town. No room for a sprawling swampy metropolis. The founders could have placed the capitol in New York City, the largest metropolis in the new nation. Instead they set aside a small parcel of land for a new city. Why do you think they made that choice?
