Stop using Twitter. Create your own space!
YOU DON'T NEED THEM !!!
YOU GUYS ARE 70 MILLION DEEP!
Rosa Parks should have just created her own bus line, huh???
even if she did, the company that makes the buses would stop providing them to her, then the city would prevent her buses from using public roads.
fun isnt it?
Agreed, and that is why I was stating it in that manner. A handful of people control public transit and the decisions it makes. So, it would be circular logic to think that anyone outside of that circle could make a difference.
80 million rosa parks could have
Not for public transit.
A handful of people control those contract and department rights.
So, sadly, the logic still fails at this point.
80 million people, organized, can completely destroy and rebuild a nation. Pretty easy to influence and change local politics they really really wanted to.
That is the lamest fucking argument. Put it this way, there are many other bus lines already there. Choose one.
Quit using Twitter, create our own space?
You mean like Parlor? Let’s not forget that Twitter, FaceBook, Instagram and others benefited tremendously from taxpayers who built fiber hubs, laid out infrastructure and provided grants and tax incentives to get where they are
Then there are the counts of monopoly, anti-competition, RICO and collusion when these multiple liberal companies worked together to prevent a competitor from lawfully engaging in business.
Baby steps, look for a disruptive idea/method/technology to upend social media in the near future. They are mature platforms and ripe for it to happen. Look at the rise of the iPod. Before it Rio, Empeg, Zune; all either swept away or relegated to a tech backwater. However each dominated for a time until something better came along. They had a piece of the puzzle each but the iPod put them together. I'd see the same with parler, gab, mastodon, etc.
Then the iPhone wiped out the iPod, creative destruction. Innovative companies do that, they don't try to stifle competition.* They blow it out of the water. Does fakebook & twatter seem like cutting edge innovators now or just trying to hang onto their original idea? Am really curious how Musk's Starlink fits into the overall picture by bypassing current terrestrial infrastructure?
*Apple is no longer an innovator.
This. AND... this is exactly why AT&T was hit in Nashville. Hell, we had outages in Dallas because of that. JUST SAYIN.
Please don't put words in my mouth, and projecting. I never suggested whether I liked, or hated the FACT that US Taxpayers helped fund, and get the backbone of the internet up and running. Wikipedia has a technical breakdown that shows what Governmental agencies did, in establishing a baseline operational guideline for the internet - as it exists now, and going forward. We have the National Broadband Plan, and continuing taxpayer subsidies to ISP's.
I am neutral on this. Just reporting facts - however, you seem quite emotional about it.
Oh, regarding your rant on Twitter doesn't or didn't use public infrastructure - you may want to check out some articles by Mazdak Hashemi, who is only the VP of Infrastructure and Operations at Twitter - he would disagree with you
The entire concept of twitter is retarded.
I have a friend who has been wasting time arguing with strangers on twitter for like 10 years
It has never made sense.
Q told us to remain on twitter. Twitter is the battlefield. Q even told us to create back up accounts, in case they delete our first accounts.
GAW, Gab, /pol/ are the strategy rooms, and twitter/facebook are the battlefields. In an information war, both are important.
Hopefully we can do better here than Parler where their terribly bad security lead to a total hack of all their user data before it was kicked off AWS.
Where's all the "ERMAGERD AWS is insecure!"?
