Couple of things:

Just because you have a thought doesn't mean you should entertain it.
Doesn't mean it's YOUR thought, either. Could be someone else's.
Learn to sit back and observe. Then let it go.
Imagine it's dissolving and being flushed from your body.
Learn to observe your thoughts...like clouds floating by while you are the sun.
