I'm excited actually. Feel like I'm 8 years old waiting for Christmas day and that new Nintendo.
I was a child of the 90’s. N64 was the best Christmas ever lol.
100%
I will never fucking forget one of my first Xmasses that I can remember. In the '90s. My mother got me a Playstation 1. The only game that with it at the time was some demo with a sample of loads of games. On it, it had demos of:
some Spice Girls dancing game
a football game
this weird game where you're like a beachball and have to bounce around different platforms (Kula World!)
I remember how magic it was. Cold, wet, rainy, dark Xmas day. I burst with excitement when I opened it. I'd never had any gaming console of any sorts until then. Me and my older sister wrapped up in blankets as kids, playing these PS1 demos over and over again all day. Never getting bored of them despite finishing them really quickly. Damn being a kid was awesome sometimes. Don't you miss everything being so magic and wonderful?
Yes! Everything was simple. Holidays were special— time off school, gifts, great food - things you couldn’t get on the day to day. You hung out with friends. We lived in the country so we rode ponies, pretended we were the Calvary, built forts, walked to the general store for candy and looked forward to snow days & Summer vacation. The obsession with materialism and a fear that someone might steal your kids, has taken away the freedom and peace I had as a kid. I want that back BUT NOW for Real. The dangers were there but we didn’t think they would happen to us. Now we know. Times up on DS.
It’s the simple things in life ...
