I really hate how, first the democrats, then the left, have tried to distort and butcher MLK and his legacy. First, the Democrats tried to paint him as a communist (to the point of having extensive bogus and invasive investigations performed on him, just like happened to Trump and so many others these days), something that our modern left wing at first embraced and attempted to amplify before realizing that was a contradictory agenda (him being portrayed as communist was something done by the southern [actual, at the time] racists) and they turned on him as "too religious" and "homophobic" and not left wing enough. Since then, they invoke his name once in a while because they know normies like him (for good reason) but they simultaneously slander and defame him.
