this is simply not true and don't ever think it is.

America is a collection of states. The states are meant to have independent control, similar to that of an independent country, with the exception of national security and such. In each of your states that are meant to operate self sufficiently, the elections are based on democracy completely, every person in that state gets 1 vote and 1 equal vote.

America the union of states is a Republic and the federal elections as such are based off the constitutionally mandated electoral college, not a 1 vote democracy.
