I know they're incompetent out there, but are they this incompetent?
If you ever ask the question "Can California really be this incompetent?" then the answer is always yes...and more lol.
I was hearing from some friends that they're having some pretty big Santa Ana winds picking up in the valleys so that could have something to do with it. Dunno if this is anything by itself but worth keeping an eye on to see if it spreads.
It is windy as all get out in CA today. Along with no rain for the past 9 months and uncleared national forests it’s a recipient for large wild fires.
High winds in southern California. The electric company’s turn off the electric to areas during Santa Anna winds to try and prevent fires from breaking out. They too cheap to upgrade the old out dated power lines.
We have had winds here that have been absolutely crazy over the last 24 hours. Like, thought trees in our neighborhood were going to fall. But I'm sure trees elsewhere actually HAVE fallen. So I assume that's the reason for the outages.
Red Flag High Wind Advisory. Due to critical fire weather, restrictions are in place throughout Los Angeles until Wednesday morning. State shuts off power since most natural fires are caused by downed electrical poles.
i'm in Orange Co...east of LA. no power outage here...but...big winds anticipated today. they now shut power down in areas with high fire danger.
We’re expecting gale force winds up and down the coast this afternoon. The state is very dry. These are planned outages to help prevent fires.
