Do not disavow God. Trust in him. He showed mercy to many in the Bible who remained strong in their faith while facing certain death.

God won’t abandon you. His people are relentlessly attacked all throughout history. We had a brief few hundred years as the super power of the world. But we lost our way as a nation. We turned from God as a nation so he no longer offers us his protection. Maybe as individuals he still will.
