Exactly, and what the admins were likely worried about was if the person who retained ownership of the domain created a mirror of the site, and it would prompt you to log in, and would just assign ownership to your account to whomever the first person was who signed in with it. (Hence the part about purposely using a wrong password).
I remember the post. I remember early on thedonald.xyz was listed as a replacement url.. that currently redirects to patriots.win
However, I believe those URLs were superceded by a different group of URLs, so I dont really know what to believe anymore

it said if you get logged out automatically and any password allows you to log back in then it is a honeypot
