Beware Patriots.win - My Malwarebytes is flagging it. I can get on GreatAwakening.win just fine.

So weird, cause the top level domain is the same (.win)
I use Malwarebytes with brave and it isn't flagged for me. Try accessing via communities.win.
Pure speculation, but here's a possible explanation. .win entirely is a suspicious TLD.
As such i wouldn't be surprised if Malware Bytes just pops up the warning for the entire TLD.
I would imagine they manually whitelist TDW, here and other legit sites as they come across them.
The new site's only just became a thing and it's probably just not been updated yet.
It's certainly worth raising an eyebrow over and checking out further but... In and of itself this is potentially resolvable with an email to Malware Bytes.
Maybe, I don't know.
Hey, I'm just telling you what happened to me. Look at my tabs. GA is just fine, but patriots.win is a no-go.
I don't know why.
This is not necessarily something to be scared of. TLD in this case means “patriots.win”
Certificates are issued by a service that has access to both the root file path of the site, and the web. The service places a file with an authentication key in the file system of the website, and then checks to see if it can access it though the TLD, in this case, patriots.win. Certs prove that the site is served from where it claims to be served.
You are perfectly safe here so long as you don’t enter any information. I’d be cautious about passwords - wait a couple days to see what happens, or use a temporary (new) throwaway account.
Either way, it does it.
This just means someone at malwarebytes added ".win* top level domain to a blacklist or something, just add it to exceptions and move on.
I understand a lot of you guys are not that tech savvy.....but please don't post stuff like this that only relates to your particular flavor of security software it is just a false positive happens all the time.
If you don't understand tech please don't post fearmongering shit like this, it makes us look dumb. Instead maybe ask if this is a problem instead of "BEWARE THIS IS A PROBLEM"
GreatAwakening.win works fine. Patriots.win does not.
I am tech savvy.
I can't figure out why it blocks one and not the other.
That's why I made this post.
If i had to guess, i would say you probably added an exception for GA and TD at some point in the past and forgot about it OR some brave pede inside malwarebytes took it upon himself to manually exclude GA and TD while leaving the top level domain .win flagged as malicious since scammers can in fact try and use this domain for nefarious purposes and probably are somewhere.
Same, I tried to go to it on my work computer and it was blocked. TD.win and GA.win work fine.
sorry but I don't believe anyone that is still using google fake chrome.
I'm not. I'm using Brave.
you still using the addon for chrome on it though..
Chrome and Brave are built on the same base structure.
The addons are compatible for the most part.
If I didn't have the chrome-extension Malwarebytes, then I would not have Malwarebytes at all and then I wouldn't be able to see that it was blocked anyway.
just download MB it works also without addon, I know it bcs I have it.
