Fake news is totally dependent on the imagination of people who function in a premonition state of mind by using a sliver of "what if" to perpetuate an illusion. The illusion will be bolstered by accomplices who are willing to disseminate the illusion as fact based (in their minds only).

A long winded way of saying: they're totally insane!
