This handshake quarantine could be implemented fairly easily by the mods, yes?
Here's an idea I had that I posted elsewhere.
Rather than ban handshakes, create a filter option that allow individual users to block seeing handshake post and comments until they receives a particular amount of upvotes.
Then there are those who can deal with the shills and trolls and leave those filters off and do nothing but deport once it's clear a user is controlled opposition.
These filters would also help new members.
