Just for the sake of argument, what "IF" they did stage part of the inauguration? What is the implication or impact? Sure, they'd be caught in a lie, but what does it change fundamentally? I can't think of a thing it changes other than some public perceptions of Biden and the media, which are already fairly low to begin with. Anyone with a different opinion?
if we start from the claim "it was stage" been true.
I can only think of two things that might serve of any use (for good or bad guys).
While everybody has their eyes on the inauguration, other things are done to the people involved, that way nobody would suspect their absence.
If there was a real threat (let's say a Sniper) to the lives of some of the people involved in the inauguration, having parts of it staged would provide them security, while everybody at home thinks that it is business as usual.
