While another surge remains possible, especially with new, more infectious variants on the horizon, the number of new daily infections in the current wave appears to have hit a high in the past week or two and has been steadily declining in most states since, the researchers say.
So which is it? Was the death rate soaring, or had the infection rate been declining? It doesn't seem likely that both are true.
In general (ignoring the issue of how 'real' the Coronavirus is for a moment), deaths trail infections by a few weeks, so the left story is about deaths (rising towards a likely crest) while the right story is about infections, which may have crested and starting to fall after the xmas surge.

I think it means that the infection rate is declining, but the Demoncrats may need another shot of fear to control the masses in the future.
Both came from NPR so neither are true
