It came from there. Why is Wright Patterson so special, any theorys?
I believe any maintenance items/modifications are performed at Wright Patt in Dayton. The E4-B’s home base is Offutt in Omaha NE which is home to Strategic Air Command. I seem to recall when that hangar was damaged because of flooding it’s temporary home was in Dayton. They seem to go back and forth quite a bit between the two. I was watching one of the Nighthawk birds this weekend and it was making its rounds over Lake Superior.
Strategic Air Command has not existed since 1992.
Yes you’re right I think it was re-named Stratcom or something. I just remember it being called SAC for the longest...
