Actually you only need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in murder anything else you just need to prove it could have happened. Learned this one when I was on jury duty for a precursor trial to a murder trial.
Yeah it was really early in the morning, I could remember the word for it. I know when I went to family court they didn't care that I had evidence proving it didn't happen they just went based off of who's story sounded more likely. There's a word for it but I forget it.
