Hmm idea: we make an app that tracks all of this political crap such as laws, candidates, policy, etc... from the users local level to federal. Like, upcoming county laws that are being voted on, state laws and federal. Maybe even have comment sections to discuss the law being passed or politician. Of course heavy moderation to keep conversations on subject.
I had this idea for a while and was going to try to make it but I realized I dont have the skills or network to get this done. This app should help with uneducated voters not vote for people like xiden.
Let me know where you land. My husband is a programmer and I have a little experience as well. Happy to partner with you and any others.
Apps are pretty easy to build out, it's a matter of finding the right way to source the data locally and federally in a clean way, but can definitely be done. What you could start sourcing is what people would want the interface to look like - will they need to login? What's the home page they'll see? Will it be tailored? How will you split the local and federal information? Then can start drawing simple paper prototypes and test which will help figure out how back-end will be configured for the data that'll need to be collected and spit out.
Would your husband take on such a project as leadership, he would need to be able to manage everything? I'll keep an ear out and keep everyone who comments in mind. I could possibly donate and help on website structure.
My thinking is people would sign in and possibly use zip code, district, or town, to filter all results that apply to the user. Possibly even tag bills for intrest like unconditional, tax, gun law, etc... upvote downvote tags.
For front end prototyping there is a program called figma. https://www.figma.com/
I'll repost this maybe once a week untill I find more people interested.
Sounds great, such a great idea! I'll chat with him tonight, I think he'll really like it and we can get back to you.
