As a veteran, the lack of salutes and especially seeing the NGs turning their back on Joe - stand out to me.
But I don't want to put any stock in this yet. Concerned about my own confirmation bias.
I have not seen a salute exchanged. Have any of you?
I think the military holding in the urge to not shooting Fake Joe on sight is already asking a lot. Wouldn't push by asking them to salute.
No joke, I literally can't believe there haven't been more fraggings in this nation.
That only speaks to the absolute, herculean strength of character, self-control, and dedication to the rule of law.
OTOH: Are you REALLY a "great person" if you allow evil to flourish; if you offer zero resistance in the face of evil?
I've told family members that when I was in the ARMY, if an individual or a platoon turned their backs on POTUS, we would have been charged under the UCMJ.
I can see how their chain of command would be happy to ignore it (especially NCOs). But I would expect some ass-kissing officer to come down hard on them just to score political points.
And it not happening indicates that the upper brass is endorsing it.
I said something very similar on another thread a couple of days ago. Thirty years ago in the Marine Corps we would have been charged with some violation under the UCMJ for not saluting a dignitary or, god forbid, the CIC. The whole thing seems odd.
Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen are not required, nor are they in the habit of saluting Prisoners of War
I saw a few salutes from soldiers as the motorcade drove to the cemetery, about 3-4 out of the 200 or so they drove past lol
Yes there are many clips where they saluted. There are also quite a few where they didn't. Stark difference with GEOTUS tho, he ALWAYS saluted.
He did get one at the inauguration from the parade sergeant. Was just looking through it just earlier.

Do you have a timestamp?
Yes. 4 hours 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Hmm.. did it not jump straight to that point?
Thanks. No it didn't jump there for me.
pretty awkward salute though. (after Joe turns away...)
I'll say it still doesn't mean much. The bulk of the body language I can see from the military is ice cold.
Yeah. Weird body language. The sergeant waited to the very last minute to give one. Either that or he was expecting Joe to turn to him before entering the car. Extremely awkward.
At the wreath ceremony, I saw Old Guard troops with their caps sitting on the ground next to them- the Tomb Guard-that spoke volumes to me...
yeah I saw the clip that showed hats on the ground at the parade. Hats on the ground seems strange to me but I don't know what it means.
I thought maybe a gust of wind got the parade hats. What does that mean about the Old Guard?
Think of the grueling training to maintain the correct kind and number of paces they MUST do in all kinds of weather-perfect uniforms, perfect character maintained for the rest of their lives-the wreath pin is sacred to the Tomb Guards. This is a serious break in protocol-their being there capless in front of commanders and generals means it is condoned.. See videos of how the the officer on parade deals with noisy tourists by comparison.
They can probably find one fake marine so the fake news can point to it and say "debunked" over and over like with the NG turning their backs. Especially with face masks now they don't even have to make up a cover story. :( sad but yeah. Thank you for your service. Congrats on being effectively promoted to military intelligence like us.
No government jet to inauguration.2 cannon. 9/10sec interval 21 gun salute. No TFR over Mar A Lago = Fake president
I sent my new ....lets say....pink pilled, former army reserve, significant other the video of the soldiers turning their back, not saluting, and out of formation to POTATUS on inauguration day. He said, "so...a few guys aren't saluting...*shrug" Sidenote: I was engaged to a Staff Sargent (now deseased) and he'd complain about "having to salute assholes" Have to. 'Have to' salute. Have to....no choice.
It is a HUGE deal that they aren't in any position of formal recognition/attention....let alone the guys in the back with their backs turned at the motorcade!
Mad disrespectful. How could anyone who even kinda served not get that?
Yeah. It's huge.
I failed to salute a butter-bar one time. I greeted the officer but I did not salute because we were under a covered walkway. I wasn't trying to show any disrespect. The officer didn't seem to mind but the SSGT walking with her blew his lid. - Turning your back on the supposed CIC is a million times worse.
Or think of any change of command ceremony you ever had to participate in.
And you're right about the lack of formation too.
While in Kuwait - if we were visited by anyone, politicians, generals, whoever - we were in formation.
Much discussion of biden being a foreign dignitary from the city state of DC visiting America... The last CEO (???) of USA Inc being rendered what ARE proper 'honors'..
