Exactly...Any1 that truly "trusts" any of the swamp dwellers, hasn't absorbed the enormity of the movie we are watching or the matrix we've been subjected to. Q said it pretty plainly, those who decide not to run for re-election have been put in "submission"...They are placed in check, and will do as told. Tulsi is fighting for any semblance of freedom she can get at this point, hence, she is portraying the actions of a "good guy". Occam's Razor...
