I don't think it makes sense to equate the two. This is a public forum with the intention of open dialogue and discussion. I get that there are rules and they don't want unnecessary posts flooding the forum. And yet here we are, another unnecessary (totally preventable) post flooding the forum. And yes, people have numerous outlets with which they can express dissatisfaction with one of Trump's press statements. But this is more akin to the White House making a YouTube video and turning off the comments IMO. Biden "admin" has been doing this basically nonstop. Making you feel good? I assume not, keep seeing posts criticizing it.
Again, I'm not here to bash the mods (rules are rules). But I'm not afraid to criticize if I witness hypocrisy or feel like something has crossed the line. I think turning off the comments on a public forum (which has the sole intention of stirring discussions) is crossing the line.
