I was banned for "inciting violence" despite doing no such thing. No example was given.
I was the main force on the /r/con team that aggressively went after the anti-conspiracy brigaders, and the sub has deteriorated dramatically (IMO) in my absence over the past several weeks.
I should mention that my reddit ban came about 48 hours before trump's ban on twitter.
I can't help but think this describes everything that's happening right now, even with the latest with the WSB fiasco thrusting reddit into the spotlight again...twice in less than a month!
Have you heard about the r/MaxwellHill (Ghislaine Maxwell) thing?
Top tier reddit (gold status blah blah) mod. She posted 6 times a day for many years...right up to the day Ghislaine was arrested. Since that day (7 months ago), not a single post from that account.
She was also involved in removing/replacing other mods, so this definitely happens.
This article has much more evidence its her, and talks about her doing the mod removal/replace thing. Best relevant article I could find.
I've had a personal vendetta against MH and everything that power mod represented for many years. We brushed elbows more than once. I'll be perfectly honest, when the GW/MH conspiracy broke, it was at the height of the Wayfair scandal, and I initially dismissed it as one of the stupidest conspiracy theories I'd ever heard, and a possible planted distraction from Wayfair.
Now I'm about 50/50 on it...still unconvinced, but the continued radio silence from MH is very strange. I see no reason to abandon such a prolific account, esp. because the initial explanation was that he was "busy" and would return soon.
This article completely ignores the Ghislaine connections, but goes tnto great detail about her replacing mods behind the scenes.
You probably know of some of this already. There was also discussion on the old voat that anutensil and maxwellhill were in fact the same user.
From the link above:
Former r/technology moderator davidreiss666 clarified in a discussion about this article that he was the person who initially modded anutensil more than two-and-a-half years ago. After she removed r/technology moderators AgentLame and TheSkyNet, he in turn removed her. Anutensil was ultimately brought back on as a moderator by maxwellhill shortly afterward.
I've never seen this drop before.
Some context:
I may have been banned from reddit for my pinned Italygate thread
