can anyone determine if those long shadows are faceing east or west? They probably did the swearing in money shot during golden hour which occurs during sunset or sunrise.
This side of the Capitol faces west, therefore at noon the shadows should be directly overhead from East to West, but in the southern hemisphere. The shadows would be pointed due north. I wanted this to be true, but unfortunately its nothing.
However, I don't think this took place on Jan 20th at the Capitol, I'm only confident it did take some place at noon.
Living north of DC I can confirm shadows that long are only possible in late afternoon. Yes the ecliptic changes with the seasons, but the angle of incidence midday will be greater than 60°, wheras the angle of this shadow is clearly less than 30° from the horizon.
High Noon is at a different time when you are in hell.
Recorded a week earlier, it was cloudy and snowing on the 20th at D.C.
True poster thank you
Holy crap, how have we not realized this til now?
I went back and watched, it's legit. even people in the crowd down below have shadows coming from the side.
