I am well aware of numismatic value, but I am curious if they will have actual purchasing power AS currency. TBS, if not, then when the gold backed $$ are instituted, then I will be happy to exchange them for gold dollar bills and use the the bullion I have for serious purchases/barter, but definitely NOT exchanging them for fiat paper. Thank you for your detailed answer!!

I'm also curious how the new system would be rolled out. Regardless of whether we'll be able to spend junk silver or exchange it for a new specie currency, holding onto it for now seems like a good idea.
