My ex is still a Park Ranger at the Mall. I have been in a few of them. The tunnels connect to all the monuments. On the Park Mall website you used to be able to (not sure now) tours to see the stalagmite formations that formed underground around the tunnel entrances. Also, just for fun, buy your Mom the very entertaining books Spy School written by Stuart Gibbs. This whole cabal crab could be taken from just about any of the books. Good Luck!
