We just have to say no.
Ive been scared this whole time because i dont want to have services denied to me or have people yell at me. But im over this.
Ive decided that if im confronted, im just gonna say no. If they persist, ill say i feel suffocated and they make me cry. If they continue....im gonna cry....while looking them dead in the eye. I have this ability...it is genuine.
Then, the fantasy is everyone takes them off and we all clap.
I travel a lot for work and have been across the entire southeast and even up into Pennsylvania and Illinois in 2020. I’ve had 3 scenarios play out with the door with door watchers.
1: The door watchers and other employees absolutely do not care if anyone wears a mask at all and don’t confront anyone about it in any way. Though the employees will probably be wearing some type of face covering, just because the boss told them all too. This is mostly in red states, and mostly starting after a month or two from when the lockdowns started until now.
2: I’ll have a door watcher ask me if I would like a mask. I say no thank you and walk away into the store. Nobody else says anything to me, I’m not told I can’t come in, I’m not asked to leave.
3: A door watcher will ask me if I need a mask. I will say no thank you. They will tell me that it is mandatory for me to wear a mask to come in. I tell them that their official corporate policy is to not confront people for not wearing a mask, to not ask us to leave, and to not forbid us from entering the store. I then ask them if they are going to do any of those things. They say no and I walk away into the store. This is mostly in leftist hellhole states.
Be aware, regardless of where you are, if a store employee tells you that you are not allowed into the store or asks you to leave, if you don’t leave, that is legally trespassing. You might have the police called on you, and they might give you a trespassing warning and you’ll be banned from that particular store (and I think also every other store in that franchise chain but not sure on this) or you could be arrested.
I have had a few Karens come up to me and complain to me about not wearing a mask, but if they don’t work at the store they have zero authority over you and you can choose to completely ignore that they even exist. Or you can tell them to keep their social distance of ten feet (Everyone knows the “standard” is 6’ so telling them 10’ is the modern polite way of saying gtf away from you) and that if masks work that theirs should protect them from you.
