Same. I go to the grocery store once a week and I’m in a 90% liberal area. For the first two weeks had no problem even though I was the only person in there without a mask. The third week I was at the checkout before someone said anything. The last 2 weeks I’ve been stopped multiple times in the store and asked if I need a mask.
I was telling people I’ve got a medical history that makes it unsafe to wear one. Partially true because I’ve got a history of chronic bronchitis (and it helps that I have an old inhaler to carry around). Today I just straight up said I’m not wearing a mask or anything else on my face. Felt good.
My sister is a diehard liberal living in California getting a political science degree. She heard that I’ve been going around for the last 2 months without a mask and said she hopes I get COVID to teach me a lesson. A week later and she’s got blisters in her throat and potential tonsillitis. Don’t know whether it’s the religious mask wearing Karmic retribution.
I like to think it’s more a a misguided ignorance on her part. Moving to California certainly hasn’t helped.
As far as the bronchitis goes, I haven’t actually been sick for the last few years and did switch over to a vegan diet due to much of the reasons you’ve got listed. Nobody argues with you in the store for not wearing a mask if you’re carrying an inhaler though.
I haven’t gone fully raw vegan but since I’ve got chronic hives that require Zyrtec everyday for the last 15 years it’s definitely the next step to at least see if I can clear up the allergies once an for all.

Thanks for the advice!
