the original knowledge is quite simple, but if you look at their symbiology today, it's all sinister - sun and moon reversed, downwards pointing pendulums, upside down pentagrams - they've taken the ancient mystical arts from Egypt and Hinduism - which were for awakening consciousness for light and good - and reversed it into something black for evil and descent.
