Because the victims deserve justice.

A lynch mob is not justice and doesn't serve as warning to others.

Lynching is emotional fueled, done at night, can be done by anyone.

Justice is served in the light of day for all to see, exposing evil.

Besides, as soon as you deny trial, it becomes precedence. Who gets to decide who gets a trial, you?
