Indian here, that area is called the drug triangle of Asia and is a hotbed for CCP funded separatists who want to join China and leave India, specially states of Manipur, Sikkim and Nagaland.
Wow! I work with a lot of guys from India. In fact, half of my team is in India. I ride a Royal Enfield Bullet, the same model used by the Indian military. One day someone saw me getting off it at work. I didn't know him, but he was really excited. He told me that his dad is an officer and that he used to ride the same motorcycle. He also told me that his dad was currently (2016) in Sikkim doing training. I understand that India has bases near the border.
On a related note, Royal Enfield hosts a major ride every year to some crazy place. I wonder if the ever did one in Sikkim. If they did, I'd want to do it.
Ha! I used to own a Bullet 500 Machismo back in 2004 when I lived in India.
They do these adventure rides and you have to be part of a Royal Enfield club to participate. You can search for the membership details and take part if you like, of course after the lockdowns end.

I have heard of CCP backed groups in Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam. I never heard anything about Sikkim. That's scary. Thanks for the information.
