the argument of 'why would Hollywood shove it down our throats' is in direct negation with the fact that media mirrors reality. we learn more and more every day how everything we have seen in movies was essentially a prediction of our reality and they desensitize people by showing us so they can get away with their sick shit & also manipulate the truth. they make sure they are controlling the narrative by showing us true realities but with their own spin. they make going to space seem like this insanely difficult thing and that no one can survive there and that there is nothing there. what if space is highly colonized with ships and aliens everywhere? they wouldnt want people to know that, they want us all to think its a desolate wasteland so that people dont go digging or try to go there themselves. by admitting the vastness of space but being able to control what we think it's like, they hold the pen. they do this for literally EVERYTHING. the amount of shit proven from movies the more we discover is limitless.
