17 year cicadas

I just realized this is the year the cicadas (aka swarms of locusts) come back, isn’t it? After 17 years? This feels very significant to me for some reason.

Cicadas are probably best known for their buzzing and clicking noises, which can be amplified by multitudes of insects into an overpowering hum. nationalgeographic.com
