I have never put on a mask since all this started. Ever. I live in a pretty conservative town in a blue state. Not a single store in town has ever hassled me much about masks. So yeah, getting told I wasn't welcome at a store over a mask was a bit of a shock. First time I've been "kicked out" ever.
Not gonna lie, it bothered way more than I thought it would. Haven't been able to stop replaying the incident in my head since. I had just been able to build up enough confidence knowing I could walk into any store without fear of being humiliated. That's gone now. How do you all manage this kinda stuff? I've written corporate a message, but I'm pretty sure I'll just get a canned response. This thing has got me BUMMED out, man. Like.. bad. Makes me want to never leave the house again.
Anyway, sorry for the weird post but I don't really have many friends or family to talk to about this stuff. Thanks for reading.
Don't let it get to you.
Just let the feeling run its course, out of your system, and continue on without the mask. That's what I do. Been kicked out of a couple gas stations / convenience stores (or at least refused service if I don't put on the mask) so I just leave what I wanted to buy right there on the counter and walk out.
I live in a smaller town so there isn't much variety in grocery stores.
I already don't go to Costco because of this ridiculous shit. Now it looks like I won't go here either. Just feels messed up.
So the messed up part here is from a purely economical aspect it seems like the stores would be looking the other way to survive right now. They have to know, "if I dont get people in house they will buy online and then I as a store owner die" . This obviously mainly applies to smaller stores. Big box can fuck them selves all day long I guess. But the smaller stores are slicing their own throats to be hard core like this. Oh well if you dont want my money then screw you. I have several stores that are dead to me b/c of this stupid crap. Keep you head up!
