Not that I don’t believe you, but this doesn’t sound right. An ex-president is a private citizen, so why would they continue with any intelligence briefings that aren’t directly about threats to them or their families?
Ex-Presidents have always continued to receive regular intel briefings after they leave office. As far as I know it's always been that way, because, with their experience, they are sometimes called on to consult the current President with difficult decisions.
Odd to me. Seems to go against compartmentalization, exploitation and need to know.
If they need a former president’s experience, they should read him in when it is needed. That’s how I would do it to control leaks and compromises.
