The MAC addresses (the specific computers sending and receiving the data) is such a great piece of information. It should lead investigators to specific machines. If the data on that Maxine has been erased or is deferent, then whoever had control of that machine also committed treason along with anyone who gave access passwords and so on. Was something as simple as Packet Tracer the key to seeing the theft in real time?
These might show that there was intrusion but I wouldn't place much value on the source IPs or source owners.
The source owners look like ISPs and any hacker worth his weight in salt would know how to cover his own IP. Even a VPN can achieve that.
Edit: One other thing I noticed. It has been stated that there were servers in Germany and Italy but when I looked at the video, I didn't see that reflected on the map.
The Leonardo satellite trsnsmissions were described as running through the SCYTL server in Frankfurt, which was indeed shown to be active on the Tracer maps.
That is one example of an untraceable or covered hack.
You could be right, I just watched again and it does look like Germany shows up.
I don't see any in Italy but I also don't know how tracing works with sat connections so that could explain it.

I wouldn't mess around with hacking government sponsored entities... unless you know how to hide your tracks. Some governments actively have rendition missions against foreign hackers
