I don't consider Buddhism a religion so much as a philosophy on mindfulness like stoicism. I became connected to Buddhism through DBT therapy. It made me feel 'okay', and helped me see christianity in a better way vs. feeling like a bad person. I know that isn't what the Bible is meant to teach, but it scared me in the past because of how I poorly connected to God I was. Honestly I think more people could use DBT therapy/mindfulness training these days.
