I think one thing to realize is that in this time when media is failing to do the proper work, we all need to become citizen journalists. Put on a detective hat and figure out whether you can establish truths from what you read.

I stopped believing people's interpretations of things unless I can verify it for myself. Charlie Ward said a lot of stuff that were wrong but he did point to many topics I could look into to research. When I found contradictions to what he said or lack of evidence backing his claims, I knew what not to believe.

Maybe start a hobby of trying to prove what you read? It's kinda fun to discover the truth for yourself and confirm with hard evidence. The lack of evidence means that it's unverifiable and you need to hold back from believing it.
