one thing leads to the next

after 9/11 they wanted Iris scans and biometric passports

the precursor to the TSA was called the TAS or something like that

if you look at most passports they have a little square symbol with a circle and they have a chip - that was for iris scans and biometics - but it was all resisted furiously and abandoned.
