Nope he was an older guy—mid 50s. I give lots of young guys the opportunity to build on their knowledge of fixer-up jobs (maybe they work for a contractor during the week and what I need done gives them a little extra) and pay them for their learning, so I’m not prejudiced against the concept.
Then again—I bought a house from a “handyman” and still come across his “fixes” that need to be repaired properly.
There are exceptions.
Maybe yours was his first house and he cut his teeth on those "fixes", you have to start learning some where.
