Of course anyone can have admiration for any flag. But the American flag in this video is being used for identity; to spark a reaction.
Yeah, Madchild is Canadian, too. In my youth I used to be a part of Battle Axe Warriors. It was a group of artists; from a canvas to a mic -- they have it all.
Tom was cool. We grew up an around kids of all ethnicities and bonded with everyone; there was never a problem. So I laugh at those who call him a racist or bigot. That could not be further from the truth.
Of course I agree the intention of this song and video is to spark a reaction, and that there is a specific brand of Americana being portrayed here.
But I do think this brand is one that almost anybody can identify with. The classic blue collar just leave me be brand.
What nation doesn’t have people that are happy to work hard for freedom and family and just want to be left alone?
