It's because people have lost their moral foundations, they try to find purpose in life somewhere other than serving God and succumb to the propaganda of the elites (feminism, BLM, wealth distribution etc.) and in turn form a strange, demented allegiance to them, they become their idols and masters, once that bond is established they cannot come to terms with the idea that their whole paradigm was a lie and that they dug themselves a hole. Imagine ripping up 80% of your identity trying to find the truth, it wouldn't be easy.
