Moon dust is very sharp, abrasive and course. No wind on the moon to blow the dust. It’s pulverized rock

I would think that it would not be unusual for their to be multiple boots. Grilled boots for walking on the moon surface and non-grilled for space walks / repairs where grilled boots wouldn't be beneficial.
