I am re-reading the Lensman stories and the parallels between what the Galactic Patrol is doing to unseat the political machine and install the Galactic Council bear a striking resemblance to what’s going on now. Not that our military or politicians have Lenses, but one can dream...

The same dirty tricks by the opposition. The same information wars and lies. The same rigor to “PROVE IT! SAVE IT!” The Eddorians and Ploorians are slightly fantastical, but IMHO Smith would feel right at home with the political atmosphere and he’d most likely agree that the Deep State and the zwilniks are pretty much birds of a feather.
