Man, don’t get me started on Joe Rogan. I agree with what he said there, but he is so duplicitous. Here’s my rant: I’d been listening to his podcast for years, including all of his friend’s podcasts when he started to build up their network. Good conversations right? Fun to listen to the guys talk and hang out and be entertaining, like you could almost be “one of the guys”. But I quit listening to all of them over a year ago, right when the Covid starting hitting the U.S. The conversations he was having with his friends like Bill Burr (another huge lefty and a disappointment), Burt Kreicsher (you’ll never be Joe Rogan you wannabe psychophant ), Joey Diaz (confirmed felon, walking scumbag), and the rest of the guys hanging on to Joe’s coattails waiting for a hand out, were so innocuous and vapid I couldn’t take listening to any of them anymore. And don’t get me started on “young Jamey”; that guy is one step away from Antifa. Here’s the thing; I understand the argument, “he’s an entertainer, he has to appeal to the broader audience”, or “that’s just his style, he agrees with everyone to make them comfortable to speak openly”, but he is being two-faced in his actions and it’s sickening to watch/hear. But the kicker was his Spotify deal. I knew he was in the deal for something in mid 2019, but I was unsure. Then he had a few podcasts where he was talking with friends about “moving to a ranch” out of California, which is huge for Joe since he is so L.A. based, which started me thinking, “what the hell is doing”? Then the COVID starts to hit hard, everyone is freaking out and what are his friends worried about, making money. But Joe is being cagey, and it always looks like he’s got a secret to tell but he can’t. Then Joe announces his $100 million contract with Spotify (huge FU money), and, “I’m leaving California, they restrict my freedoms too much”, and I’m over here thinking, don’t you do it MF’r, don’t you dare come to Texas, and bamn!, the MF’r announces he’s buying a ranch outside of Austin (huge lefty city, but also near his good buddy Former seal Tim Kennedy) and he’s bringing all of his friends with him, one by one... the thing about Joe is, he’s conservative whether he wants to admit it or not. He’s a warrior (life long martial artist), he’s a hunter who takes down huge Elk with a bow butchers the meat, he knows how to be a hard man, he understands the sacrifice it’s takes, he is a father (he has a few girls), he knows he is a protector, he knew California was circling the drain for years and he needed to get out, good for him he did. Joe needs to get off the fence and just admit his beliefs and make a stance. If people don’t like it, too bad.
