Those "homes and half-way houses" are all hotbeds of sexual abuse. The kids are vulnerable and at the same probably already sexualized by earlier abuse. Terrible, life-destroying and those kids do not end up "healed" either. A Marine buddy of mine who took his own life years ago told me horrible stories about bein orphaned and living in a group home.
