Regarding impeachment 2.0, just a thought

By allowing the impeachment of a former president to go on, this would mean obama, bush, and clinton could still be impeached. I know impeachment of a former president is dumb, but what if the trump team are entertaining this in order to wreck them later?

Question...let's say they impeach him. Can he take it to the Supreme Court to be overturned? Sorry im just trying to understand the process after.
