What do the Democrats have to gain from this? Trump is already out of office.... they are only making him MORE popular.

If they win and impeach him, they don't gain anything.... if they lose, they look ridiculous and weak. The cost analysis of this just doesn't make any sense.

This leads me to believe there is a lot going on behind the scenes. I just can't make sense of this. They have way more to lose than they have to gain, especially because I don't believe they will have the votes. I do not get this.
