Sweet story. Hope it is true. I have my guard up as when I was in college years ago (before the Internet) there was an older lady in the library reading almost every day when I went to study. She told me she was doing research for a local CPA. I was surprised but impressed that she was there. By the end of the semester we had a little friendship of saying “hello, how are you doing?” She then told me how she had served in the Air Force in WW2. I was amazed. She said she had also worked as a lawyer after the war. As a young and naive student, I believed every word. That was until one day I saw her off campus, near a bus stop and she pointed out the apartment complex where she lived and then she muttered that the people there were “trying to poison here.”
