Did she actually do the article heading claims? They’ve had a target on her for a long time I knew Disney would eventually manufacture a reason to get rid of her. I loved Gina in Mandalorian and I have always loved her in general
The Instagram post that they used as an excuse to fire her read as follows:
Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors... even by children... Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?
The post also featured a photo from the 1941 Lviv pogroms, during which Jewish men and women were massacred by their own neighbors.
They're trying to claim that the post is anti-Semitic, which is ridiculous. It was clearly anti-Nazi and said nothing bad about Jews. (I'm descended from German Jews on my father's side, by the way, and I'm not insulted by the comment at all.)
Furthermore, the point that she makes is fully valid. It's not even an exaggeration or hyperbole. Politicians and the media are indeed trying right now to rile up people to dehumanize and hate their neighbors for being conservative. The way that they are trying to brand all Trump supporters as domestic terrorists because of the false-flag Capitol incident on January 6 is almost an exact copy of the way the Nazis used the burning of the Reichstag to demonize their political opponents. History is repeating itself in the most sinister way. Fortunately, we're still in the early stages, and hopefully it will be stopped and reversed this time. But nonetheless, the Nazi playbook is being copied right here and now, just like Gina Carano said.
